Clean Up Copied Text Online: Remove HTML Tags and Extra Spaces

Paste cluttered copy into Clean Text Online before you start editing. It removes markup and uneven spacing so you can work with readable text first.

Use the Clean Text Online

Why copied text becomes messy

Text copied from web pages, PDFs, chat tools, and rich documents can carry hidden formatting, HTML fragments, uneven spaces, and blank rows. These artifacts slow down editing and can break a form or CMS field.

A cleanup pass gives you a plain-text baseline. It is especially useful before comparing versions, measuring length, or moving a draft between tools.

Clean first, format second

Remove noise before you decide on headings, links, and paragraph breaks. That sequence makes it easier to see the actual words and avoid preserving accidental formatting from the source.

Review quotations, code, and tables carefully. These formats sometimes use spacing intentionally, so a general cleanup should be followed by a quick content check.

Build a repeatable process

For regular content work, use the same order each time: clean the source, check the wording, format for the destination, and make a final length check. Repetition in the workflow reduces avoidable publishing errors.
